We are extremely proud of our Belvedere Range as we use methods in making the bed that are almost obsolete now, from hand teasing all the loose cashmere, horsehair and mohair to the genuine hand side stitching. This bed contains only the very best upholstery materials.

Surrounding the fabulous spring unit are eight layers of wonderful loose hairs, consisting of two layers of horse hair, two layers of blonde cattle tail, two layers of cashmere and two layers of mohair all topped off with wool felt and a generous layer of lamb’s wool, each with their very own distinct properties, which all together help to create the most comfortable bed imaginable.

We finish each Belvedere mattress with four rows of genuine hand side stitch on the mattress border which is also border stitched with a protective corn backing, we then hand tuft with natural rosettes.
Divan sets are sold with pocket sprung divans which are all glued and screwed and hand-made by our craftsmen in our London factory who have over 40 years experience in the industry. Mattresses are available in soft, medium or firm.

MATTRESS SPRING

A wonderful Pocket spring unit with 2000 individually natural calico wrapped springs in a standard king size bed. Available in soft, medium or firm.

FILLINGS

We use only the finest natural materials in this bed, with 1500g horse hair pad with cashmere, white cattle tail, mo hair and wool felt.

Cashmere 

Cashmere, The high moisture content allows insulation properties to change with the relative humidity in the air, the same qualities are found in cashmere sweaters, extremely soft and very durable.

White cattle tail 

White cattle tail is a very high qaulity upholstery material used in only the finest mattresses it gives bounce, durability and very good ventilation properties to the mattress.

Wool 

Wool curls naturally. Using it in bedding and mattresses results in stylish, comfortable volume. Wool can absorb twice as much moisture as cotton, and 30 times as much as polyester!

Horsehair 

Horsehair is used by the top-quality bedding manufacturers and upholsterers to provide their products with greater durability and comfort. We use hair in both divans and mattresses for maximum comfort.

Mohair

The distinctive properties of mohair have made it a very sought after fibre down the years. The soft luxurious feel and rich lustre combine with great durability.

COVER

100 % Cotton ticking cover is applied, available in black and white stripe, plain cream ticking or a cream cotton with a slight flower detail as seen in pictures above. We add 8 handles to our super king size and 6 to our standard king size, two rows of genuine hand side stitching then hand tufted with natural rosettes.
